SUMMARY

This position is a full-time, government-funded project for World Renew’s project implemented in South Asia . This project aims to achieve the enhanced enjoyment of SRHR for vulnerable adolescent and youth girls (aged 10-24) in select communities in Dinajpur and Netrokona Districts, Bangladesh, by improving both the delivery and use of gender-responsive SRHR services for adolescent and youth girls. The project will be a comprehensive approach to advancing SRHR by going beyond health services to address the gendered inequalities, discriminatory social norms, and institutional structures that limit the access of SRH services for vulnerable adolescent and youth girls.

This role is a key player in the successful implementation of the project, including co-development of the implementation strategy, annual Workplan, oversight/monitoring project targets and deliverables, capturing project learning, risk register/mitigation logs, and project reports to funder stakeholders.

This position will be hired based on funding that has been approved yet pending its materialization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management – SAY-SRHR

  • Serve as World Renew’s liaison and contact point with the donor related to the project.
  • Coordinate and/or lead all staff and teams involved with the project both in Canada and Bangladesh, including: Transformational Development Team, Gender Specialist, MEAL Advisor and staff, Finance, project team and partners in Bangladesh, and Asia regional team
  • Facilitate project meetings and document meeting notes with action items for updates and feedback with staff teams assigned to the project
  • Oversee scheduling and task assignments to ensure all deliverables are achieved on schedule and on budget
  • Development of implementation annual Work Plan, submitting to the institutional donor within the framework of the contribution agreement, providing results to-date, plus an updated financial package and response to issues identified with the institutional donor
  • Work closely with project Finance Manager for financial oversight, budgeting, burn rate and variance analysis and reports.
  • Management of all compliance and responsibilities of the government-funded award (i.e. financial, legal, programmatic)
  • Monitor progress toward project outcomes, outputs and activities
  • Monitor, adjust, and evaluate actual project performance against the PMF indicators with project outcomes and impact; ensure timely adaptive action is taken
  • Report on progress of PMF plan, keeping all key stakeholders informed of progress and issues
  • Monitor, and adjust program expenditures, with explanations for project expenditure variances
  • Identify trends and key learning, along with obstacles and risks, initiating corrective action
  • Occasional travel to Bangladesh per budget determination

Team Member – Transformational Development Team

  • As a member of the grants sub-team, encourage and promote quality programming through innovation, tool development, best practices, and responsive consultation to the Asia Regional team.
  • Attend meetings of the sub-team for work coordination and reporting on progress of SAY-SRHR project and Government-funded grant
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with all members of the grants sub-team
  • Coordinate with other teams within World Renew, including our Constituency Relations, Marketing Team, and major donor sub-team as necessary to fulfill World Renew’s financial matching contribution for the government funded grant
  • In collaboration and working with field staff, represent World Renew’s commitment to sustainable development, environmental stewardship and holistic ministry
  • Maintain awareness of relevant policy discussions in the Canadian and international context
  • Network as required with alliances and partnerships in Canada to promote the SAY SRHR project

External Engagement & Knowledge Gathering/Sharing for SAY-SRHR

Other duties as assigned related to the grant project.

SUPERVISION

This position will provide leadership, guidance and oversight to the SAY-SRHR team members who assist with this project and reporting.

  • Knowledge and experience with Global Affairs Canada’s tools and methodologies, including Results Based Management, logic models, performance management frameworks, and budgets.

  • Demonstrated competence in developing budget projections and financial reports
  • Demonstrated competence with Microsoft Suite word processing and spreadsheet software

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, in international development, gender, health, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years' experience in international development, grants management and government relations required.
  • A Master's degree in a related field and experience living and working overseas would be ideal
  • Project management skills including financial planning and budgeting skills and knowledge of government grants

LANGUAGE

Written and oral competency in English is required; competency in other language(s) such as Bengali is an asset.
